If you have been following my blog for awhile, you know I LOVE seasonal centers. Kids get so excited when you pull out Halloween or Christmas centers. When you add in themed erasers, it is just ice cream on the cake. But, sometimes, we want centers we don’t have to constantly change out. Centers the kids know to use so you don’t have to explain how the game works. That’s where my Domino Math Centers and Unifix Math Centers come in handy
.
These centers grow with the kids. You can start by building number sense. Count the dots on the dominos. Then, move into adding or subtracting with the dominos.
These add and match centers can also grow with your students. Start with the numbers 1-20, then move onto the numbers 1-20. This is great for building number sentence and working on addition and subtraction.
There are also plenty of math printables and worksheets. These can be printed, and used with a pencil for independent practice or homework. You can also print them and laminate them for multiple uses. These activities also build on each other so you don’t have to keep explaining how to use them multiple times.
Purchase Domino Math Centers
I really enjoy these Math Snap Cubes as well. They provide hands on learning for students. They can develop number sense by building towers and filling out ten frames. Students can add and subtract with snap cubes.
(Look for these centers to get a modern update this summer)
I have this FREE Math Center for you try. It uses BOTH dominos and snap cubes. Perfect for hands on learning. I made the cards small enough to fit into a photo box. Are worried about students haring materials? This is perfect for you. You can put the card, a marker, some snap cubes, and a domino in a photo box. Then, you don’t have to worry about students sharing germs. If you can;t afford a photobox for each student, try a ziplock bag. No, it’s not as durable, but it is more cost effective.
