Are you looking for a fun way to practice heart words? Get your heart word cards and this snapping alligator from Amazon or Target. No, it doesnt hurt when it bites, but yes, your kids might be scared the first time. The top teeth are rubber and it does not hurt..❤️ Students read the word card❤️ Push down on the tooth❤️ See if it "bites" you. I often get asked about I teach "heart words," "sight word," "tricky words" whatever you want to call them. I teach them through direct instruction and independent practice. Students need to be directly taught why they are tricky. We know that most words are decorate, once you know all the rules. BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, if they haven't learned the rule for that sounds, that is tricky until you directly teach it. Like is a tricky words if you haven't taught silent e. The is a tricky sound of you haven't taught it. I made these sight word mats to grow with your students. You can teach it tricky and then, later show students how they can decode it. What is your prediction? Will the groundhog see his shadow? Do you want six more weeks of winter or are you ready for spring? These activities are a fun way to get your class involved. I start the day by having kids vote. Then, I have them draw or write about signs of winter and signs of spring (easy way to teach those science standards) Then, add in the groundhog craft. Did you survive Snow-geddon 2026? ❄️😅We only got a tiny bit of snow and it’s basically gone… so yep, I’ll be at school tomorrow.I’m low-key obsessed with this Sneezy the Snowman craft 🤧☃️The kids get to make their own snow using Elmer’s glue + shaving cream 🤍✨ The shaving cream gives it that fun 3D texture✨ The glue holds it all togetherIs this too much for a Monday?
