Are you looking for a fun way to practice heart words? Get your heart word cards and this snapping alligator from Amazon or Target. No, it doesnt hurt when it bites, but yes, your kids might be scared the first time. The top teeth are rubber and it does not hurt..❤️ Students read the word card❤️ Push down on the tooth❤️ See if it "bites" you. I often get asked about I teach "heart words," "sight word," "tricky words" whatever you want to call them. I teach them through direct instruction and independent practice. Students need to be directly taught why they are tricky. We know that most words are decorate, once you know all the rules. BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, if they haven't learned the rule for that sounds, that is tricky until you directly teach it. Like is a tricky words if you haven't taught silent e.
