Halloween is right around the corner. I have 8 great activities to keeps your class engaged during this sugar crazed season. My best advice is keep it fun, build in movement, but also, try to stick to a schedule.
The Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything – This is one of my favorite stories. I like to read it, have students act it out, and sequence it. They love making the sounds that the scarecrow parts make. This craft is one of my favorites. It can stay up after Halloween too. This one is 50% off all week.
Halloween Centers I love to break out the Halloween Centers. The kids stay engaged because the theme is so adorable. This year, I will be incorporating a sensory table and a magnet board with these centers, Be sure to follow me on Instagram@myfabulousclass to see them. Get the centers here.
Halloween Simple Sentences These have everything you need to practice concepts of print. Students can practice one to one correspondence, spacing, capitalization, and punctuation. There are pocket chart sentences, cut and paste sentence, and an adorable emergent reader. You can get this on sale for $1 this week.
Halloween Count the Room FREEBIEIt can be hard to keep students engaged during Halloween. Write the Room gives your students the ability to move around the classroom, while counting and writing numbers. If you like this one, you can get the Fall Count the Room for HALF OFF ($2) for a limited time.
Halloween Interactive Math BookThis is another great ones to keep students engaged. They can practice counting, one more, one less, writing, cutting, gluing, and more, all in a cute little book.
Halloween Digital Centers I know most of you are in person, but these Google Slides are perfect for a smartboard or to assign for independent work in Google Classroom. I don’t like to put the kids on the computers too often, but I do think it is important that they learn computer skills. And, lets be honest, it is nice to have a no prep center, right?
10 Timid Ghosts This is another one of my favorite books. It is great for talking about feelings (what does timid mean?) It’s a great book for counting and retelling. I have included an adorable Haunted House Craft.
Free Spider Make Ten This is a great, simple center for working on making 5 and Making 10.
