When did kids become so fascinated with this little green man? I don’t remember building traps when I was a student, but I love celebrating in my classroom now. I have my students create leprechaun traps at home. the bring them in the day before.
I let students show how their traps work. Then, they pick where they set them up. After the kids leave, I trash my classroom!!!! Haha, I like to knock down chairs, spill pencil boxes, and leave a little glitter! I used washable paint to make the little foot prints. I created this FREE Letter you can share with parents explaining that you would like parents to help their child create a leprechaun trap at home. It is editable so you can change it.
I like to stick to fun activities on St. Patrick’s Day. The kids LOVE making these WANTED signs for their leprechauns. We brainstorm as a class what the leprechaun might have looked like. Most kids say he is little, like 4 inches, but I have had kids say 10 feet before. It’s always fun to see what they come up with. Click HERE to buy these adorable activities.
This CVC Word pot is another fun way to decorate the classroom, while working on CVC words. You can pick a word pattern you are currently working on in class or let kids pick their own. I added the rainbow chain to hang it up. We have parent teacher conferences coming up in two weeks. and this is a great way to show student work.
I added a few additional printable activities to keep you class busy this March. You can buy all of these adorable St. Patrick’s Day Activities HERE.
